Daily fantasy sports are regulated state-by-state. Here's where Rocket DFS operates, the age and verification rules, and how we handle taxes.

We may add or remove states between now and launch. Eligibility is verified at signup via IP geolocation and KYC — you cannot deposit or enter paid contests from a restricted jurisdiction.

WHAT “UNDER REVIEW” MEANS
A few states — including Texas — sit in an Under reviewstatus rather than a hard yes/no. Here's exactly what that means for you.
- What the review is
- Our legal team is analyzing each state's daily-fantasy-sports statutes and any pending attorney-general guidance to confirm a skill-game exemption before we accept real-money play there. For Texas specifically, that means tracking the Texas Attorney General's position on paid DFS.
- Timeline
- We expect a determination for every “Under review” state on or before our September 1, 2026launch. If a determination slips, we'll update this page — check back here for the current status.
- Can I create an account and play during the review?
- Yes — you can create an account and play free contestsfrom an “Under review” state. Real-money deposits and paid contests stay disabled in that state until eligibility is confirmed, so nothing you do during the review puts money at risk.
- What happens to my deposits if the state is ultimately restricted?
- Because real-money deposits are never enabled in an “Under review” state, there are no at-risk funds to strand. More generally, if a state you funded from later becomes restricted, your balance is never forfeited— it remains fully withdrawable and we'll help you cash out. We never keep player funds on account restriction.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
The Rocket DFS minimum age is 18, raised to 19 or 21 in states whose statutes require it. You must meet the higher of the two bars (Rocket DFS minimum, state minimum).
We verify age at signup using ID-document matching. If you cannot pass age verification, your account is suspended until you can.
If a minor in your household has accessed Rocket DFS, contact info@rocket-dfs.com immediately so we can lock the account.
IDENTITY VERIFICATION (KYC)
We verify your identity before you can withdraw funds. This satisfies state regulator requirements and protects your account.
You'll be asked for:
- ·Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- ·Social Security Number (US residents) — for tax-form generation only
- ·Proof of address if your ID address is out of date (utility bill or bank statement, within 90 days)
- ·Selfie verification for withdrawals over $5,000
ID documents are stored encrypted and only used for verification + regulator-mandated record-keeping. Read our privacy policy for details.
TAX REPORTING
Rocket DFS issues a 1099-MISC to any US user whose net winnings (gross winnings minus entry fees and refunds) reach or exceed $600 in a calendar year. Forms are issued by January 31 of the following year, electronically when consented and by mail otherwise.
Net winnings = total winnings − total entry fees − refunds. You can download your full transaction history from the wallet page.
State income tax may also apply depending on your state of residence. Rocket DFS does not withhold state tax — you're responsible for any payments owed.
