1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information (name, email, date of birth)
- Payment information (processed securely through third-party processors)
- Contest entries and gameplay data
- Communications with our support team
- Usage data and analytics
2. Identity Verification & Tax Information
To comply with state gaming regulations and federal tax law, Rocket DFS collects government-issued identification and tax-identification data from real-money players. This is a regulated data class and we handle it accordingly.
- What we collect:a government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport), your Social Security Number or other taxpayer identification number (US residents), proof of address where required, and — for large withdrawals — selfie verification.
- Why we collect it: to verify your identity and age (Know Your Customer / KYC), to satisfy state licensing requirements, and to issue a 1099-MISC tax form when your net winnings reach the IRS reporting threshold ($600 in a calendar year).
- How it's stored and who holds it: identity and tax documents are encrypted in transit and at rest and are handled by our KYC and payment-processing partners under contract. We do not sell this data, and we share it only with those processors and with tax or regulatory authorities when the law requires.
- How long we keep it: tax and identity records are retained for the period required by federal and state record-keeping and tax law (generally at least the IRS-mandated retention window), even after account closure, then deleted.
- Your rights:you may request access to the identity and tax data we hold about you. Because retention of this data is legally mandated, your right to delete it is limited while a legal or regulatory obligation to retain it applies; once that obligation lapses, it is deleted under our standard retention process (see "Data Retention" below).
For the full list of KYC documents and our tax-reporting policy, see our Eligibility & regulatory page.
